As far as McF I would like to see the pics before getting excited. The same figure can be awesome or lame depending on sculpt/ pose ,etc. Look at all the Spawn variations...they aren't all home runs...(cough..SWAT Spawn)

As far as the N-word, I went to their site and saw what they are producing. To be honest, they don't have super killer licenses either. Who gives a shit about A Christmas Story characters? Thye get props for the Cheech and Chong figures, which are very cool...I have those. ( so I guess I know the company) BUT keep in mind the only reason the larger figures look better is that they obviously use head scanning, which is a major sculpting cheat. Does Mcsculptors use scanning, you know?

Steve told us on the tour that even when you real-scan a face there is quite a bit of sculpting that goes into translating that into the prototype....

... I'm sure the process is getting better but Steve said that they used scanning for several of the Sports figures, but some of them needed so much modification that many ended up being resculpted by hand.

(He also commented how many of the Nascar drivers would say things like "this one's good... but THIS ONE is FANTASTIC!" and he's say... "Yeah, that one was sculpted by hand." [img]wink.gif[/img]

It's reassurring that the computer can't replace art. The computer is a tool but that's all. Nothing replaces the human touch.

...and you know what I noticed when investigating the the image that had been popping up (the one of Tiffany standing over the ogre) - we have this figure listed as being from the SPAWN Bible, when in fact it is based on an illustration that appeared in SPAWN #45. This little oversight has since been fixed (check for yourself) and all is right with the world.

I was under the impression that most of the 'ex-McFarlanites' who work at NEKA did not necessarily get fired. In fact, I hear from reliable source that Tankman specifically 'quit' (he was only working freelance for them in later years anyway), as well as Randy. Rudy Garcia also worked with N for a while, another ex-McFarlane guy who was not fired. Of course, most ex-McFarlane folks I've talked to ARE indeed bitter about working there, whether they were fired or not. [img]wink.gif[/img]
